The Water Song Kiddos!

Last month I had the wonderful opportunity to visit a 4th and 5th grade class in San Jose, CA. I went to that specific class for a specific reason. and that reason is……

they made me a music video for The Water Song!

They directed, edited, and wrote the entire video themselves! It is incredible what these kids can do with technology these days. They even managed to use a greenscreen!

I was super excited to visit them all before they finished up their school year and we had an awesome post-recess, pre-lunch hang session complete with singing, dancing, and a Q&A discussion about music, water, and everything in between! I was so impressed by their understanding of the water situation in California. They asked me tougher questions than I have been asked by adults concerning water awareness and water scarcity.

One kid aptly noted that now that he is aware of the water problems in California, he realizes that this is a global issue. He has concluded that everyone is involved in the future outcome of the decisions we are making now regarding water management. Their insight was really sophisticated and honest.

I am beyond happy to have had the opportunity to chat with these kids and hear their thoughts on water consciousness.

As a result of the our meet-up, I have all the permission slips signed and we are going to use their music video as the official music video for The Water Song!!!!

I can’t wait to share this with the world!! I don’t think I could have even made a video that captures the message as well as they do in their video. It is truly inspiring and I am honoroed to collaborate with these kids!!
