Surfrider Mixtape Show at Touch Vinyl

This past weekend I was invited to play at Touch Vinyl, a super rad record store in West LA, in celebration of Cassette Store Day! Touch released seven tapes to commemorate the day, including a mixtape put together as a benefit for the Surfrider Foundation.  The tape features some really incredible artists, including Daryl Hannah, Minnie Driver and Pete Yorn’s band, The Olms. My friends (and very talented musicians)  Jessy Greene and Sunday Lane (who combined, form Fauntella Crow) are also in the line-up. Basically, it is a beautiful tape created to support a wonderful foundation that supports and advocates an important cause that is near and dear to me … water quality in our oceans.

You can buy the digital and/or physical mixtape!

The show was a blast! We were joined for some songs by the incredible and magical Rami Jaffee, as well as a surprise drum addition by the mixtape’s curator, Sir Malcolm Cross aka Morello (also on the tape!). It was all super fun! My whole family was there and the Westside was well represented!

After our set, was a set from Veterans of Future Wars. Let me tell you, I have not been so inspired by drums, synth, and trumpet in a long while. Oh wait, that is because that never happens!  It was totally awesome!!!! Be super sure that you check them out because you will not be disappointed.

All-in-all, it was a great show and the vibes were unbeatable. Please go buy the mixtape because it is super fun and it is for an extremely important cause. I am working to actively combine my recently obtained degree in Hydrology and my music to make this issue come to the forefront of people’s minds and organizations like Surfrider are crucial to help get the messages out there and engage people in the cause! Thank you in advance for buying the tape. I hope you enjoy the tunes!
