Live from Fonogenic!
Holy frijoles! The Fonogenic show we had on October 4th was out of this world. We played with Fauntella Crow and Minnie Driver and the whole show was streamed LIVE for FREE on StageIt.com!
Fonogenic studios is where I recorded my EP, It Is and It Isn’t, with Rami Jaffee and Ran Pink. I was joined on stage with the ever-awesome Rami, as well as with an absolutely mind-boggling crew of other talented musicians for a couple of songs during our set: Paul Ill (who also played on It Is and It Isn’t) on bass, Jessy Greene (all around badass, super star) on violin, and Matt Chamberlain (music legend and drums on the yet-unreleased DeeDum) on drums. It was all totally spontaneous (i.e. no rehearsal!) and beautifully organic. We loved every second of it!
The night included face painting and live stream interviews before and after sets, and even Fair Trade Quinoa Vodka. The crowd included a gaggle of amazing musicians, and there was even some jamming after the stream ended from Jonny Kaplan, Dave Lichens, Kevin Haaland and our favorite Fono ninja, Samon Rajabnik. It was really a riot.
Malcom Cross was there promoting the Surfrider Mixtape we were recently a part of (and playing drums for Minnie Driver)! The Westside Surfrider mixtape is epic … you can read my post about it here and check it out on bandcamp here! There is even a write up about the artists and the cause here!
Thanks so much to everyone who tuned in to the livestream! And please be sure to check out Fauntella Crow and Minnie Driver because they are incredible musicians and make beautiful sounds.
