Tour Night 5: Cafe Lift – June 26

When we got to our backyard camp pad in San Jose, we were greeted with a dog party! Literally! Our host’s dog, two dogs she was dog-sitting, the across-the-street dog, and Meta and Nia! Then the next-door dog came over through a loose board in their fence and it was a dog block party! We played some tunes for the dogs, our host and her friend before we took off to the Cafe Lift open mic.

Cafe Lift takes place weekly in a cafe inside a big mega-church. The show wasn’t really what we expected at all: It was an eclectic mix of musical styles. Our favorite was a bluesy guitarist who was also doing an open-mic tour around the Bay region! Plus, some of my San Jose peeps were in town and able to make it out to catch the show, which is always great.
