Tour Night 3: Tiki Tom’s – June 24

After our pleasant Motel 6 stay we headed to Walnut Creek! I had been in Walnut Creek once before, four years ago when I broke my leg in a basketball tournament. The hospital was really nice but the circumstances of our visit this time were infinitely better!

We wandered around town all day and found a sweet park with a community garden tucked into the hills. We enjoyed our travelling pack life as we wandered.

We got to play at this super fun and good spirited open mic at Tiki Tom’s. Our hosts were the Space Monkey Gangstas and they were really great guys who played some killer reggae in between people’s sets.

We were totally stoked to get our first encore in a city where we didn’t know anyone! Everyone was very supportive and had kind words about the music. We were invited back for some gigs and are excited to return :)

After our fun night, we headed to San Francisco to sleep before heading south. That road took us through this crazy, cool tunnel.

Next stop: Santa Cruz!
