Bio
Alicia Murphy is a 21-year-old singer, songwriter, guitarist and drummer from San Pedro, CA, who writes quirky, catchy songs about the randomness of everyday life.
She recently released It Is and It Isn’t, a four-song EP produced by Rami Jaffee (The Wallflowers, Foo Fighters) and Ran Pink of Fonogenic Studios.
After meeting Alicia serendipitously while she was practicing with her high-school garage band, Jaffee was intrigued by her unique sound, which he dubbed “humble pop”, and invited her to record at Fonogenic. It Is and It Isn’t is the first set of recordings to be released as a result of that collaboration.
Alicia studies hydrology at UC Davis and is passionate about environmental conservation, particularly water conservation and clean water access, a theme that is present in many of her songs.
